How awesome is this? Produced by Motoconfort/Motobecane and most likely from the 1960s, this is one hell of an old school touring bike.
Seriously classic in looks and kitted out with some amazing vintage French kit, such as the original Lefol No. 11 Demi-ballon hammered mudguards and Motoconfort integrated pannier racks with integrated dynamo lights and beautiful cut-out 'M' detail. This really is a thing of beauty, and super super rare too. It actually looks very similar to a 1950s Raphael Geminiani tourer we sold a while back, but we believe this to be a 1960s machine. The frame number actually ends in 61, whether this correlates to the year of manufacture or not we cannot confirm, as Motobecane appeared not to apply logic to frame numbers back then. Whatever the age, it's an absolute gem, with a full Huret 4-speed gear set, a stunning cut-out 5-arm Solida cottered crankset, original French Guidonnet brake levers & cantilever brakes, Lyotard rat-trap pedals, beautiful Normandy high Flange 'pepper pot' hubs laced to Rigida Chrolux 650B rims & finished with a wonderful Pivo stem & Ideale BIM 6 sprung leather saddle. Some serious kit.
To top it all off it's been kept rather well, bizarrely spending all it's life in Morocco before making it's way back over to France and finally over to the UK into our hands. As you can probably tell, we were rather excited to find this beauty, and we hope it goes to an equally as excited new home.
As with all our vintage bikes, it'll be supplied fully serviced & ready to ride away.
