Many of you will have been following the journey of this wonderful project, some of you may have even seen versions in the flesh. Well next weekend is the big event, and there are going to be a number of them on show as we see this year's instalment of L'Eroica taking place in Italy.
From what we've seen, Bianchi alongside Giancarlo Brocci have done a cracking job. They were always going to produce a stunning looking frame, but what we're particularly impressed with is the spec. It's not easy trying to replicate vintage racing bikes with modern components, but it looks like they've managed to strike a good balance between classic styling & modern functionality, which is a tricky feat using only what's available today. The mixture of Campagnolo & Dia-Compe parts is actually very tasteful, and it's nice to see the Ambrosio Montreal sprints in the mix. Another nice finishing detail is the use of top tube cable clips rather than braze-ons, even if the ones in the preview photo above aren't spaced correctly ;) (No doubt the final version will be perfect).
Ruddy good work.
You can read more about the whole project over on the Eroica.cc site, but here are a few more close up pics (courtesy of Eroica.cc) whilst you're here...
