58cm Liberia Reynolds 531 Vintage French Road Bike

Liberia

GB470

One of the big French makers of the mid 20th century, Liberia of Grenoble were responsible for building quality cycles (and motorcycles) from 1918 until the early 1990s. The post WWII saw Liberia at its peak, with riders such as Henri Anglade riding their bikes in the French peloton. They subsequently faded out of professional sponsorship by the mid 60s and it wasn’t until the late 80s when they made a return as part of the famous RMO - Mavic - Liberia team, sponsoring riders such as Charly Mottet & Eric Caritoux.

The bicycle we have here is from just before that period, 1980 to be specific. Built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing & assembled using classic French kit from the likes of Stronglight, Simplex, Mafac & Mavic. It’s a quality all-round road bike that would be equally at home on weekend rides as it would be on longer distance trips.

As with all our bikes, it's been fully stripped, inspected & professionally polished & re-built. The frame is straight & true without any dents or dings - please inspect the photos for cosmetic condition as we photograph the bikes so you can see the exact condition of the bike before purchasing.
