Eclipse were the brand of a short-lived shop called Bike UK, based in Charing Cross, London. Their range of touring and 'Clubman' frames were built by Orbit and were offered as a competitor to the likes of Dawes throughout the 1980s.
This Eclipse touring frame has had a repaint (and rebrand!) by TJ Quick of South London at some point in its life, the Eclipse pantographed seat stay caps give the game away though. This is a fairly typical British 80s touring bike frame with narrow canti mounts, a slew of braze-ons and clearance for 32c tyres and mudguards. Large high quality touring frames like this are getting hard to find these days, and this one even comes complete with a high quality Suntour VX cartridge bottom bracket and Stronglight headset.
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. If there are any minor issues worth noting we will do so in the overview section below. Please take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition of the frame before you buy.
