Frenchman Raphael Geminiani was about as successful a bike racer can be without ever winning a Grand Tour, he also went on to become a hugely respected Directeur Sportif and to change the way professional bike teams operated. Like most professional riders of his generation Geminiani started a bike brand with his name on too, initially built in France by Mercier and Cycles Gitane but production then moved to Italy. Most of the bikes bearing Geminiani's name are solidly built bikes for everyday riders as opposed to high end race machines.
More than likely built in the 1960s in France by Mercier or Gitane, this large frame only retains its 'Cycles Raphael Geminiani' head tube badge as an indication of its past. Designed around centre pull brakes it would make a great commuter or work horse with wider tyres and mudguards, the dropouts would accomodate a hub gear easily too.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or a similar vintage event, this frame is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. If there are any minor issues worth noting we will do so in the overview section below. Please take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition of the frame before you buy.
