Bianchi is the world's oldest bicycle manufacturer, starting in Italy in 1885 and still going strong today. Bianchi not only have a long history but an enviable race pedigree too having been ridden to great success by Fausto Coppi and Marco Pantani as well as many more, and they are still represented on the Pro Tour circuit. Often easy to spot thanks to their distinctive celeste paint, Bianchi have a special place in the heart of collectors and vintage bike enthusiasts the world over.
The ‘Rekord’ designation was used on a range of bikes throughout the 1970s and 80s, they were finely made steel frames with the traditional Celeste colour-way and came in a variety of specifications. The Rekord bikes were numbered depending on their specifications, like all high end bikes of the period though the actual spec varied from the catalogue in most cases depending on what the builder had and what the customer wanted!
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this bike is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for breaking the rules!
The bike's been fully dis-assembled and professionally re-built by one of our mechanics. The frame's straight and true, and everything's been carefully cleaned and re-lubricated where necessary. If there are any minor issues worth noting we will do so in the overview section below. Please take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition of the bike before you buy.OVERVIEW
