Fanini are a true cycling family: promotors; sponsors; team owners; sales reps; manufacturers, and amongst all of this they produced some magnificent hand built bikes. Often equal parts work of art to pure performance, Fanini built bikes that showed what Italian craftsmanship and flair could achieve. Frequently sporting Campagnolo's top end groupsets and a red paintjob, Fanini were built in low numbers throughout the 70s and 80s and are now rather rare to find.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this bike is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for breaking the rules!
The bike's been fully dis-assembled and professionally re-built by one of our mechanics. The frame's straight and true, and everything's been carefully cleaned and re-lubricated where necessary. If there are any minor issues worth noting we will do so in the overview section below. Please take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition of the bike before you buy.OVERVIEW

The Lazzaretti brothers Remo and Romolo started their bike building business in Rome in 1916. Romolo was the racer, who had some success internationally and Remo was the businessman who's accumen helped their little shop thrive. Now two shops and still selling bikes, the business did not produce a lot of handbuilt frames, though what examples there are are very nicely made and of an excellent quality.
This eye-catching mid 80s Lazzaretti road bike combines some of the best technology of the time and a beautifully made frame in a ready to ride L'Eroica compliant package. Built in Italy from Columbus' top end SLX tube set and the newly realeased aerodynamic 'Air' fork blades and crown, this would have been a top of the range frame at the time. The green to yellow fade paint job contrasts with the chromed rear end and fork blades, and the frame has a number of brand pantographs. Put together with a quality Campagnolo Victory groupset and 3TTT finishing kit, this is a good looking and competent machine just waiting for someone to take it out for a spin.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or a similar vintage event, this bike is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!

The Pinarello story is a magnificent one, from Giovanni Pinarello taking the Maglia Nera (Black Jersey for last place) in the 1951 Giro D’Italia to the dominance of Pinarello in the cycling world today. It truly is a fairy tale, from being left out of the 1952 Giro and taking the opportunity to open his own tiny workshop in Treviso, Italy, and from there Giovanni built the Cicli Pinarello brand from the ground up. Bit by bit the success came, and with a reputation for taking the underdogs and turning them into champions, slowly but surely Pinarello went from minnows to the giants they are today.
A mainstay in the Pinarello range for many years, the Veneto utilised their expertise in building top end race frames to construct a lower cost but still high quality frame. Often found built with a slightly heavier guage of tubing such as Columbus Aelle the Veneto was offered as a frame only option with Pinarello's usual wide choice of paint colours and finishes, and also sold as a bike with a full mid-range groupset from Shimano or Campagnolo.
This beautiful example of a Veneto is finished in classic 'Rosso Pinarello' and is built from Columbus Aelle tubing. Mostly specced with an indexed Campagnolo Chorus groupset, with Athena Syncro downtube shifters, this is a really well specced bike from the point when the combined brake/shifter started to take over. Like the rest of the bike the Rigida rims have very little wear, the bike is finished with a 3T bar and stem combination and a Concor saddle rounding off the Italian theme.
The bike's been fully dis-assembled and professionally re-built by one of our mechanics. The frame's straight and true, and everything's been carefully cleaned and re-lubricated where necessary.
