Though most famous for their components, notably bars, stems and saddles Cinelli have a long history of building very high quality bikes and frames too. Combining their racing experience, engineering knowledge and entrepreneurship Cino, Giotto and Arrigo Cinelli build their own components, began distribution of parts and bikes and started to build their own bikes in the late 1940s, persuading famed craftsman Luigi Valsasina to join them from Bianchi. Under Valsasina's expert gaze Cinelli produce some of the most exquisite bikes of the time, featuring many frame components of their own design that were used far and wide. Following a take-over in 1979 by Columbus founder Antonio Colombo, the company diversified first into BMX and then the emerging MTB market, the early 80s also saw the introduction of the Laser frame, a world-beating aerodynamic concept that despite its hugely limited availability made a massive impact.
This early 90s Cinelli mountain bike frame is from the time when Gary Fisher was assisting with the design and importing Cinelli MTBs to the US. The frame dates to around 1990 or 1991 which was the start of the relationship, the over-sized 1 1/4" threaded headset was being championed by Gary at the time. With this size tubing and at this weight, this would be a Columbus Acciaio Nivacrom Oversize tubed frame, the bottom bracket is Italian thread and the frame has mudguard and rack eyelets. The finish is typically Cinelli of this period incorporating splatter, fade and neon graphics - just add Oakley Mumbos for that pure early 90s MTB look.
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. If there are any minor issues worth noting we will do so in the overview section below. Please take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition of the frame before you buy.OVERVIEW

Muddy Fox were one of the first British companies to jump aboard the MTB bandwagon in the early 1980s and were uniquitous off (and on) road through to the mid 90s. After some success with Araya built and branded bikes, the company started trading as Muddy Fox in 1985 with the seminal 'Courier' model being introduced that year. Designed as a tough, do anything mountain bike with quality 'made in Japan' components and heavily promoted with a large advertising budget, the Courier and it's relatives came to dominate both the burgeoning UK race scene and the urban environment as it became the messenger's bike of choice.
The Sorcerer Mega was Muddy Fox's top specced steel mountain bike in 1991 and utilised their over-sized tubing which was externally butted, ovalised and squared. The whole range of bikes at the time featured the neat wishbone rear end and some degree of tube forming that helped to add stiffness and keep the weight down. Painted in a mottled/sponged blue over black finish it screams early 90s MTB scene.
This '91 Sorcerer Mega is a great basis for a tough every day bike with eyelets on the rear for a rack, it could easily be run with a swept back town bar or even drop bar, there is plenty of clearance for a nice wide tyre too.
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. Raleigh are one of the oldest and most well-known bike companies in the world, thanks to their huge success with early safety bicycles; lightweight Roadsters; cult classics like the RSW and Chopper, and some big professional bike race wins in the 70s and 80s. Beginning in Nottingham in the late 1880s, the company expanded rapidly and by 1913 it was the largest manufacturer of bicycles in the world, though production slowed down through the two World Wars, by the late 1940s the lightweight Roadster was selling phenomonally well in the US and their high profile continued in to the 1970s. Raleigh bought out several smaller brands over the years adding Carlton, Humber and BSA to their portfolio, they were themselves then bought by competitor Tube Investments creating the massive Ti-Raleigh business in 1960. Raleigh's racing success arguably reached a peak in 1980 when Joop Zoetemelk won the Tour de France riding an iconic red Team Ti-Raleigh, they continued to sponsor road teams and also had some success racing MTBs in the 90s with Dave Baker.
The 1990s incarnation of Raleigh's Special Products Division (known as RSP for short), was a cutting edge bike building facility that specialized in mixed material bonded bikes labelled Dyna-Tech. The bonding process allowed RSP to mix and match titanium, lightweight steel and Metal Matrix in various combinations to offer the best qualities of each material where it was needed, and still keep the price down. The bonded Dyna-Tech frames turned out to be extremely versatile and were ridden to victory in MTB, cyclocross, track and road races across the World. RSP also offered their by now legendary hand-built steel touring and randonneur frames, all from their Nottingham factory.
The 1993 Dyna-Tech MT4 was a frame only option from Raleigh's Special Products Division. Comprising titanium main tubes, chainstays and dropouts, with Mn-Mo (Manganese-Molybdenum) seat stays bonded into specialy designed lugs. The frame was designed for a short travel suspension fork or suspension corrected rigid fork, as expected with all that titanium it is super light too. The metallic sparkle paint work is exceptional, this bike having once been partially built but never ridden, it was someone's highly specced build at one time but never made it out of the showroom.
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. Lexpres was a small cycle shop in Antwerp, Belgium that built (or had built for them) bikes bearing their name in the late 1970s and early 1980s. There are very few examples of their bikes still in circulation, but it seems that track bikes were a speciality.
It is built from lightweight but strong Ishiwata 022 tubing with Shimano horizontal dropouts and Bocama lugs, and is not drilled for a brake. The frame is stamped '77' on the bottom bracket shell which given the frame details suggest this could well be the year of manufacture. With it's original paintwork and transfers this classic frameset is ready to be built up and put back to work on the boards.
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. Cannondale have been building their distinctive aluminium bikes since 1983, and from humble beginnings, making backpacking kit out of a small shed in Connecticut they have grown into a hugely succesful international bike company. At a time when nearly every bicycle, performance or otherwise was built from steel Cannondale pushed forward with aluminium in a bid to save weight and make their bikes stiffer, which they claimed benefitted touring, racing and mountain bikes. Though their orignal focus was touring and mountain bikes, Cannondale started getting into professional road riding in the early 90s enjoying a great deal of success since, notably with Mario Cipollini and the Saeco team.
This M200 SE was built in the USA from Cannondale's CAAD1 aluminium tubing resulting in a lighter and stiffer frame. Finished in viper red or team red, this rigid frameset was still available in the mid nineties when Cannonadle were devolping some of the most interesting (and fastest) suspension bikes available
This 1996 M200 SE has a more relaxed geometry than their XC race bikes, it also has plenty of clearance , plus rack and mudguard mounts so will make a great all round bike or commuter.

A London institution, Condor Cycles have had premises on Gray's Inn Road for nearly 75 years, having produced hand made bikes for pop stars, olympians and world champions alike. Originally a Triumph dealer, the shop that was to become Condor Cycles was started by Monty Young with some help from Harry Rensch, building hand made frames just down the road from Pedal Pedlar HQ back in 1948. After a brief hiatus for Monty to do some national service, Condor employed the highly skilled BIll Hurlow to build their bikes in 1954, continueing to do so until 1968. With intricately cut fancy lugs the Hurlow built Condors are now highly prized. Through the next few decades Condor continued to nurture new British racing talent and build high end bikes, they also managed to keep up with the industry and adapt their bikes to the new materials making bikes from aluminium and carbon. Despite a shift to mass producing bikes in the far east, Condor still produce custom and off the peg steel frames at their facility in Italy.
Percy Bilton were one of the biggest UK based professional teams in the 1980s and had a number of star riders, the most successful being John Herety who went on to ride for Team GB and is now directeur sportif at JLT-Condor. The team livery was certainly on the bolder end of the spectrum, with a certain continental flair. As you would expect from professional level frames, they were built to the highest standard for both the track and road team.
Given the size of this one it seems likely it was built for John Herety himself, although we may never know for certain as Condor don't carry any records of this, they were able to confirm that these were only built for the Condor-Percy Bilton team, unfortunately though it seems the rider's name has long been removed from the top tube. Constructed from Reynolds 531 Competition tubing. it would have been hand-crafted by one of Condor's in-house master builders. The fork has been drilled to accept a brake at some point in its life and of course it has some patina from a life spent racing, but this stunning frame is a rare chance to pick up a thoroughbred track machine, in the hope that one day John will knock on your door to confirm it was indeed built for him.
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. Though perhaps better known for its mass produced racing bikes produced in France through the 50, 60s and 70s, Gitane sponsored a number of high profile professional teams and have had no less than five Tour de France winners riding for them, including greats such as Bernard Hinault and Laurent Fignon! Gitane have been making bicycle parts and bikes since 1926 and at their height were one of the largest exporters of high quality racing bikes to the USA.
Built from a custom selected Columbus tube set with three main tubes from the Cromor range the Gitane Mach 320 is a solidly built mid-range road bike from the mid 90s. With an interesting green mottled over black paint job, internal cable routing and a racy geometry the Mach 320 was in the lineage of Gitane's top end race frames, without the high price tag. A compact and fairly light frame, this would build up into a great 'retro-mod' road bike or fast commuter.
