O.G.K. bar end plugs (or caps, or stoppers if you prefer), hailing from Japan and in production from the 1970s to the 1980s (yet still new & unused after all this time). Made from plastic and weighing in at 16 grams (for the pair). A fine choice for keeping your vintage bike authentic, but also great for any other compatible bike.

OVERVIEW
TECHNICAL INFO
Plug Type - expanding plug inserts can be adjusted within the given range to fit different handlebar inner diameters. 'Push-in' plugs cannot do this, however they are usually designed to flex a little to give you some wiggle room.
Plug Insert Diameter - this needs to be a close match to the inside diameter of your handlebars, although the plug diameters can be increased a little using tape (cloth handlebar tape is perfect for this). The ranges given for expanding plugs are rounded to the nearest 0.5 mm.
End Stop Diameter - the width of the end cap that butts up to the ends of your handlebars.
Sold Out £11.88
GEM bar end plugs (or caps, or stoppers if you prefer), hailing from Great Britain and in production during the 1970s. Made from rubber and weighing in at 15 grams (for the pair). A fine choice for keeping your vintage bike authentic, but also great for any other compatible bike.

TECHNICAL INFO
Width (ctc)* - measured at the ends of the drops, from the centre of one side to the other (ctc), to the nearest cm. In some cases the bars may display a different width as some brands measure outside to outside rather than ctc, but we always use this measurement for consistency.
Shape - Classic' drops have a smooth curve, 'anatomic' have multiple angles for different hand positions, 'compact' are short reach with a shallow drop and randonneur bars are usually classic in shape but rise up then flare out at the drops.
Clamp Size - this should match the internal diameter of your handlebar stem clamp, and should be as close as possible to ensure a good and safe fit.
Drop (ctc) - from the top flat section to the bottom of the drops, measured from the centre of one to the other with the flat part at the end of the drops parrallel to the ground.
Reach (ctc) - measured from the centre of the top section to the centre of the 'curve' at its furthest point, giving you the maximum reach. We measure this with the flat part at the end of of the drops parrallel to the ground.
Cable Groove - these allow you to run your cables neatly underneath the handlebar tape, if your setup requires this.

3TTT Record 84 handlebar stem (or gooseneck if you prefer), hailing from Italy and in production from the 1980s to the 1990s. Made from aluminium and weighing in at 288 grams - pretty lightweight for a stem at that time. A fine choice for keeping your vintage bike authentic, but also great for any other compatible bike.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or a similar vintage event, this is fully compliant - so rest assured, the pre-1987 police won't lock you up for having the wrong stem!
The stem's been carefully cleaned, thoroughly checked and graded as very good condition, but do take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition before you buy.OVERVIEW
TECHNICAL INFO
Extension Length (ctc)* - we measure from the centre of the handlebar clamp to the centre of the shaft, to the point where the stem bolt passes through, to the nearest 5 mm. We always take this measurement in a straight line through middle of the extension, not along the top. In some cases the stem may be stamped with a different extension length as some manufacturers measured differently, but we always use our own measurement for consitency.
Quill Size - the most common size for classic and vintage road bikes is 1", this should be the same as the outside diameter of your fork's steerer column. Oversized steerers found on mountain bikes and later road bikes will be either 1 1/8" or 1 1/4".
Steerer Size (ID) - this is the most important measurement when checking the stem fits your bike. This should match the measurement of the inside of your fork's steerer column, where the stem will be inserted. The standard size for road quill stems was 22.2 mm, or 22.0 mm in France until the 1980s.
Total Shaft Height - measured from the top where the expander bolt head sits, to the bottom of the stem's shaft. To give you an idea of how high the stem can be set, there should be an absolute minimum of 50 mm inserted into the fork steerer, although most stems come with a 'minimum insertion line' to help with this.
Clamp Size - this should match the outside diameter of your handlebars and should be as close as possible to ensure a good and safe fit.
£33.25 £35.00
Dolf Van Vliet cable set (outer casing and inner wires), hailing from The Netherlands and in production during the 1970s (yet still new & unused after all this time). The perfect finishing touch for your vintage bike, but great for bikes of the non-vintage variety too!
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this is fully compliant - so rest assured, the pre-1987 police won't lock you up for having the wrong cables!
OVERVIEW
TECHNICAL INFO
Position - rear cables need to be longer than fronts, this is the only difference so cables long enough for the rear can also be used on the front.
Cable Type - brake and gear cables have different specifications and are not interchangeable.
Casing Width - the outside diameter of the housing. Brake cable housing is a little wider in diameter than gear, this is to accommodate the slightly thicker inner cables.
Length - it's important to check the cables are long enough for your setup. Some gear cables are designed for downtube gear levers only and there won't be enough cable to be used otherwise.
Brake End Nipple Type - Pear' type cable ends step down in size to allow them to be used with drop bar brake levers normally found on road bikes, whereas flat bar levers usually require a 'barrel' end that sits in a similar shape slot within the brake levers.
End Nipple Diameter - for 'pear' type ends this is the diameter at its widest part, with barrel ends it's the diameter of the circular part.

Though not well known outside of Switzerland, Hans Ulrich Moser's 'Moser Radsport' of Bern was the place to go for a high-end road bike in the 1970s and '80s. The frames were designed by Moser and built in Italy by contract builder Renato Negri (formerly of Pogliaghi), who was also at the time building the highly regarded Freschi and Gianni Motta frames. With wonderful attention to detail and a high-end, subtle finish, these were some of the best custom road frames available in Switzerland at the time.
Probably built in the late 1980s, this great-looking Moser frame was built in Italy by famed contract builder Renato Negri. It is likely to be made from Columbus SL tubing, with internal brake routing, fastback seat stays, and a minimal semi-sloping fork crown—it looks quick even when stood still. The pillar-box red powder coat over a fully chromed frame is in great condition and just adds to the '80s Italian go-fast look.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or a similar vintage event, this frame is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. If there are any minor issues worth noting we will do so in the overview section below. Please take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition of the frame before you buy.OVERVIEW
SIZING
Size Guide* - Small/Medium (Approx 31 1/2" Inside Leg)
Seat Tube (ctc) - 53 cm
Top Tube (ctc) - 54 cm
Head Tube - 119 mm
Chainstay Length - 40.5 cm
Wheelbase - 97 cm
*This is just a guide, not a guarantee the frame will fit as every rider is different. If you're unsure of your size we'd always recommend trying out a bike with similar frame dimensions first.
TECHNICAL INFO
Seat Tube (ctc) - we measure from the centre of the bottom bracket shell up to the centre line of the top tube to give a consistent measurement regardless of frame design (ctc means centre to centre).
Top Tube (ctc) - this is measured from the centre of the head tube to the centre of the seat tube, along the centre of the top tube.
Chainstay Length - measured from the centre of the bottom bracket shell to the centre point of the rear dropout.
Wheelbase - measured from the centre of the front fork dropout to the centre point of the rear dropout.
Front & Rear Spacing - measured from the inside of one dropout to the other. The dropouts on steel frames can be stretched or squeezed a few mm but it's always best to avoid this if possible, aluminium or carbon frames should never be stretched.
Brake Drop - measured using wheels of the relevant size for the frame, as stated in the technical info section.
Headset Threads - although it's generally recommended to match threaded parts exactly, with headsets you can technically mix and match, unless you have French or the obscure old Raleigh threads, in which case you need to stick to that type.

REG 320 BB barrel sleeve protector (or cover, or seal, or shield, or boot!), hailing from Italy and in production from the 1970s to the 1980s (yet still new & unused after all this time). A fine choice for keeping your vintage bike's bottom bracket free from dust and water, but great for all bikes with cup & cone BBs as the sleeves are all a standard size.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, these are fully compliant - so rest assured, the pre-1987 police won't lock you up for having the wrong BB sleeve!

Blackburn water bottle cages (or bidon holders if you prefer), hailing from the United States and in production during the 1980s. Made from aluminium/plastic and weighing in at 78 grams (the weight and price displayed are for a pair of cages). The perfect finishing touch for your vintage bike, but great for bikes of the non-vintage variety too!
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or a similar vintage event, these are of the correct era, so rest assured the pre-1987 police won't lock you up for having the wrong bottle carriers!
The bottle cages have been checked for damage, thoroughly cleaned and graded as very good condition, but do take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the shape & condition before you buy.OVERVIEW
TECHNICAL INFO
Cage Fixing - most bottle cages will be designed to fix to the frame, although some rare older ones mount to the handlebars and/or stem. If your frame doesn't have any bottle cage braze-ons to fix to you'll need clamp-on bottle cages.
Bottle Fit - almost all cycling bottles measure between 70 - 75 mm in diameter so this is the standard bottle cage size, the only rather rare exceptions are some old Elite bottles that require a 66 mm cage, the more recent oversized ones and of course the funny shaped aero ones that only accept the bottle they were made for.

Campagnolo Nuovo Record adjustable bottom bracket cup, hailing from Italy and in production from the 1960s to the 1970s (yet still new & unused after all this time). Made from steel and weighing in at 45 grams. A fine choice for keeping your vintage bike authentic, but also great for any other compatible bike.

OVERVIEW
TECHNICAL INFO
Bottom Bracket Type - ‘square taper’, as the name suggests have square shaped axle ends that slot into the chainset and ‘cottered’ axles are round and secured by pins - pretty much every bike up until the 1990s would use one of these, cottered being the much earlier system.
Thread Type - this must match the bottom bracket thread on your frame. The 3 common thread types on classic and vintage bikes are English (also known as British or ISO), Italian & French, and are usually (not always!) found on frames built in their respective countries. If you're replacing a cup, they often have the thread type stamped on one of them, if not there are a couple of things to look at; bottom bracket shell width (English & French = 68 mm, Italian = 70 mm) & drive side cup thread direction (English = left, Italian & French = right). The only curveball to watch out for here, although pretty uncommon, are Swiss threads (also found on some French frames, Motobecanes being one) which will have the same shell width & thread direction as an English thread frame but the actual thread pitch will be different. If none of the above matches what you have, there are a few lesser known varieties that will require some further research.
Thread Direction - the left (non-drive side) cup always threads to the right, whereas the right (drive side) cup's direction depends on the frame's threading, as mentioned above. Adjustable cups are normally used on the non-driveside; however, some bottom brackets use adjustable cups on both sides.

Campagnolo C-Record / Chorus / Euclid bottom bracket lockring (or locking ring if you prefer), hailing from Italy and in production from the 1980s to the 1990s (yet still new & unused after all this time). Made from steel and weighing in at 13 grams. A fine choice for keeping your vintage bike authentic, but also great for any other compatible bike.
These were also supplied with many other Campagnolo bottom brackets from the late 1980s to the 1990s, including Croce D'Aune, Athena, Centaur, Olympus & Xenon to name just a few.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this is fully compliant - so rest assured, the pre-1987 police won't lock you up for having the wrong lockring
OVERVIEW
TECHNICAL INFO
Bottom Bracket Thread Type - this must match the thread of your bottom bracket for the lockring to fit.
Thread Direction - most bottom brackets only have an adjustable cup on the non-driveside of the bike, so lockrings mostly thread to the right (clockwise), regardless of the thread type. However, some bottom brackets have adjustable cups on both sides so the thread direction may be different.
Thickness - this is rounded to the nearest 0.5 mm.

OVERVIEW
**This is a guide based on traditional toe clip sizing for cycling shoes of the time, if you ride with chunkier shoes then we'd recommend going for a larger size. Please use this as a guide only and if possible use the length measurement provided to compare with toe clips you know fit well.
TECHNICAL INFO
Pedal Fixing - 'standard' toe clips fix to the front of the pedals, most will be of this type and work with both quill & platform pedals providing they have mounting holes in the correct place. There are also 'aero' ones that attach to the top, and side fixing versions too. 'Wide platform' fixings are similar to standard ones but the fixing holes are almost 3 inches apart.
Toe Strap Type - most toe clips are designed to accept a single toe strap, but there are some less common ones that allow two toe straps to be fitted.
Length - this is measured from the fixing end to the toe end at the most extreme points, the same way the manufacturers measure and we use this to recommend the fit if there's no size stamped on them. All length measurements are rounded to the nearest 0.5 cm.
Distance Between Fixing Bolts - we measure this distance from the centre of one hole to the next (ctc), this usually only needs to be close, not exact, providing the holes on the toe clips are oblong shaped to allow a decent amount of wiggle room (most toe clips are made this way).

Designed by British great Ernie Clements, Falcon built lovely quality, nicely finished but affordable frames by hand up until the 1980s. The firm was amongst a number of good quality frame builders in Britain at the time and their bikes were generally built with Reynolds and had quick, race-bred handling inspired by Ernie's racing career. Falcon were also great cycle-sports advocates sponsoring the British National professional team for many years, including reputedly building Tom Simpson's race bikes.
This lovely 1960s Falcon frameset is built with Nervex lugs, delicate pencil seat stays and still mostly sports its original transfers. The early style horizontal dropouts without a gear hanger but with mudguards eyes make it very versatile meaning it could be built in any number of ways.

Alec Bird was a very well respected racer in his time who along with his Brother Ken took the oft-trodden path to becoming a framebuilder. Working out of Welling on the outskirts of London, Alec worked for Clive Stuart Cycles for many years and built some highly sought after frames.
Though branded Alec Bird this frameset is actually an Alan, built in Italy from bonded aluminium tubes and one of the lightest framesets available at the time. It's a Competizione model from the early to mid 1970s, with no cable guides or braze-ons, a real taste of the future, from the past!
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this frame is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. Famed first and foremost for her wheel-building, Pat Hanlon was an extraordinary woman in the predominantly man's world of post-war bike racing and building. Pat started her first shop just down the road from Pedal Pedlar HQ in Tottenham in 1957, continuing to build wheels for world champions and local racers alike, introducing a range of frames bearing her name in 1960 built by the legendary Vic Edwards. Later frames were also built by other well known London builder's Les Ephgrave and Tom Board. Those who are still lucky enough to own a pair of Pat's original wheels are no doubt carefully looking after them!
This frame has an interesting mix of features that make it hard to place time-wise. The Campagnolo 1060 semi-horizontal dropouts and clamp-on down tube shifter pip all point to late 60s/early 70s but the under bottom bracket cable routing and allen key brake fixings suggest later, likely the back end of the 1970s. Regardless, the lug work is very nicely done and the frame is nice and light, especially considering the clearance for wider tyres and mudguard eyelets.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this frame is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!

Sportivo Bavikhove is a racing bike specialist shop in Belgium started by local former professional Lieven Malfiet. In the early 80s Sportivo began importing frames from Italy to brand as their own and the frame details from this bike suggest it is one of the earlier bikes they sold. With cut-out lugs, a slotted BB and Campagnolo droupouts this frame is well put together, the chromed fork and headtube lugs and drive side chainstay give it a classic look too.

Eddie Soens was a hugely successful coach, nurturing the talent of national and international champions and Olympians throughout his long career. During the late 1950s Eddie's son Bill started a frame-building shop in Liverpool using his father's name on the bikes, although only about 800 were built they garnered a reputation for being of very high quality.
Probably built in the early 60s (frame number 572), this touring style frame would have been equipped with bar end shifters and mudguards from new. With ample clearance and fairly relaxed angles this could be set up to be a great commuter or fast tourer. The frameset has had a repaint fairly recently with good quality lug-lining and period-correct frame decals and Reynolds 531 badges, there are some marks from use but overall it's in very nice condition for a 60 year old frame.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this frame is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!

Benotto have an enviable race pedigree having been ridden to World Championship, one day classic and stage race victories by such legends as Francesco Moser and Freddy Maertens. Like other top Italian marques a Benotto is often instantly recognisable by the colour, the ‘Champagne’ grey finish being used for their top bikes for many years. As well as producing finely made race bikes in Italy Benotto produced frames in Mexico and were extremely popular in South America. Benotto are also well known for their shiny bar tape which was available in a wide range of colours and was extremely popular through the 70s and 80s.
Built from Oria's RANF double butted chromoly tube set (similar to Columbus SLX or TSX), this new old stock frame is ready to be built up into a period race machine or retro-mod. With classic Benotto geometry and attention to detail this is a fine example of an Italian frame of the era, with diamond shaped chainstays and internally routed rear brake cable. The model may be a 3000 but the lack of pantographed parts and a frame number make it hard to correctly identify, regardless it's rare to find a frame of this calibre still unbuilt after 30 plus years!
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or a similar vintage event, this frame is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!

The Professional was the name given to the high end race frames built by Batavus through the 1970s, 80s and into the 90s. They were available in a wide range of tube sets and configurations throughout that period, and often built from the top tube sets from Reynolds (531C and 531P) or Columbus, including SL, SP and SLX. The frames were a direct competitor to the famous Gazelle Champion Mondial, and they stand up rather well we must say.
This particular Professional is probably from the mid to late 1980s, built from Reynolds 531 'Professional' (or 531P) which was the lightest version of 531 available at the time. This frame is also built with the neat minimal Cinelli fork crown, a Dardanne BB shell and Campagnolo dropouts, resulting in a very well put together frame.
